The brigadier general who was involved in human trafficking with an official vehicle has been arrested.

An important development has occurred regarding the brigadier general who was retired by the Ministry of National Defense after allegations of human trafficking on the Syrian border. Brigadier General Bilal Çokay has been arrested due to the charges against him.

"NO MATTER WHO IT IS IN THE TSK, THE NECESSARY ACTIONS WILL BE TAKEN REGARDLESS OF RANK"

After the allegations that Çokay was involved in human trafficking with his official vehicle came to light, the Ministry of National Defense (MSB) confirmed the incident and announced that an investigation had been launched against Çokay. Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk, the MSB Press and Public Relations Advisor, made the following statement:

"It has been determined by us that the incident was carried out by the Order Sergeant Major and protection personnel of a Brigade Commander on duty in Syria using his official vehicle, and it has been reported to the prosecutor's office. Both criminal and administrative investigations are ongoing regarding the incident. The preparatory investigation is being conducted secretly by the judicial authorities.

The individuals involved in the incident have been arrested. The contracts of contracted personnel have been terminated, and other personnel have been referred to the High Discipline Board. The unit commander, Brigadier General, has been retired. The duty station of the unit commander responsible for the border crossing point in question has been changed."

"JUDICIAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSES ARE ONGOING"

In today's press briefing, Aktürk also stated, "Based on the information obtained as a result of the preparatory investigation conducted secretly, a detention order was issued by our Akçakale Prosecutor. The administrative and judicial processes are interconnected. Administrative processes will continue to be carried out according to the developments in the judicial process. No matter who it is in the TSK, the necessary actions will be taken regardless of rank".

SENT TO PRISON

Brigadier General Bilal Çokay, who was detained in Ankara due to the allegations against him and taken to Şanlıurfa, was arrested by the court in Akçakale and sent to prison.
