The fan violence in Brazilian football resulted in a horrific death. Members of the Cruzeiro team's 'Mafia Azul' fan group were attacked while returning from a 3-0 loss to Athletico Paranaense away. It was reported that on Sunday, October 27, the Palmeiras 'Mancha Alviverde' fan group attacked the bus with fireworks and nails. The attack occurred on the Fernao Dias Highway in the Mairipora area of Sao Paulo, where 30-year-old Jose Victor dos Santos Miranda burned to death. In the incident, 12 people were seriously injured with gunshot wounds and various traumas. 14 of the injured were taken to Anjo Gabriel Hospital, while 3 were taken to Franco da Rocha Hospital. The Mairipora Police Department is trying to identify the attackers by examining security camera footage. A large-scale investigation has been launched regarding the incident. The Cruzeiro club stated, "There is no place for violence in football, a sport that unites passion and crowds. We must put an end to these criminal acts," while Palmeiras also stated, "Football should never be a scene of fights and deaths. The criminals must be punished to the fullest extent."
