In the case regarding the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran in Diyarbakır, four detained defendants are being tried with a request for aggravated life imprisonment. In the interim decision taken by the Diyarbakır 8th Heavy Penal Court, it was decided to conduct an expert examination on the images belonging to the Dara region added to the case file, and the National Criminal Bureau was appointed as the expert ex officio. After the expert from the National Criminal Bureau, who came to Diyarbakır, was duly sworn in, the images related to the region were delivered via a flash drive.

In the delivery report prepared by the court, the following was included regarding the annexes of the file: "The images belonging to the Dara-2 military base camera (it is noted that the clock in the images is approximately 6 minutes and 45 seconds ahead of normal time), the camera output included in the file indicates where the defendants and the victim's house are marked, a sample of the statements belonging to the defendant Nevzat Bahtiyar and the narrowed base data obtained during the investigation are included, and it is indicated where the defendants were at the time of the alleged crime and when Narin passed by the school camera (it is noted that the school clock in the images is approximately 4 minutes ahead of normal time)."

Additionally, the report included the issues that the court requested to be investigated by the institution. The report stated: "It is known that after being seen in the school camera, the victim Narin headed towards the path where her house is located, whether she went to Arif Güran's house or barn, or whether she headed towards the house of the defendant Nevzat Bahtiyar located on the path, or whether the defendant Bahtiyar encountered Narin on the path should be investigated, especially considering that in the last image reflected in the school camera, Narin is understood to be wearing black clothing, it should be carefully examined whether a girl in black clothing can be identified, and also the time between 15:10 and 15:30 should be evaluated during the examination."

"DETAIL OF THE RED AND WHITE CAR"

In the report, it was requested to examine whether the defendant Bahtiyar went to Arif Güran's house, whether he left the house, whether he carried something to his own house or barn, whether he entered his barn or house, and whether he left his house or barn in a red car, taking into account Bahtiyar's statements at the stages of the investigation, and if these issues or other matters are determined, especially the time frame should be specified.

It was requested in the report to specifically examine the alleged crime scenes to determine whether a red and white car was identified, whether the cars came together or moved in succession. The report included the following: "If these issues are determined, the time frame should be specified, where the vehicles came together, and in which direction or direction they moved together or separately. Whether there was any human activity at the alleged crime scene at Arif Güran's house or barn, whether there were people entering or exiting the house, barn, or gardens surrounding the house should be determined, and whether any vehicle came to these areas should be specified. It was unanimously decided to prepare a detailed expert report by evaluating these issues separately."

THE INCIDENT

Narin Güran, who went missing in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of the central Bağlar district on August 21, was found dead in the Eğertutmaz Stream on September 8. In the investigation conducted by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 12 out of 23 suspects, including uncle Salim, mother Yüksel, brother Enes Güran, and neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar, were arrested. The investigation against Salim, Yüksel, Enes Güran, and Nevzat Bahtiyar was completed, and the indictment prepared against the four defendants for "intentional murder of a child in complicity" was accepted by the Diyarbakır 8th Heavy Penal Court on October 23. The trial of the defendants began on November 7, and the hearing, which lasted for 3 days and resulted in the continuation of the defendants' detention, was postponed to December 26.
