The statement of Nazir Ilgın, who killed Nilda Müge Şahin (26) in front of a pharmacy in Şişli, has emerged. Ilgın stated that he asked Şahin to withdraw her complaint, but she did not accept, saying, 'After I took out the gun, I fired twice. I learned that she died from the news. I stood by her grave all day.'

The statement of Nazir Ilgın, who killed Nilda Müge Şahin (26) in front of a pharmacy in Istanbul's Şişli district while she was waiting for her friend to pick up medication, has emerged.

KILLED WITH 2 BULLETS

The incident occurred on August 5 at around 00:45 in Gülbahar Neighborhood. According to the information obtained, Nilda Müge Şahin went to Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital with her friend in the evening. Şahin and her friend, who left the hospital, then came to the on-duty pharmacy to get medication. While Şahin's friend was getting medication from the pharmacy, Şahin waited outside. According to the claim, Nazir Ilgın, who was on a black scooter motorcycle with license plate 34 PJ 7763, opened fire on Nilda Müge Şahin on the street where the pharmacy was located. After the attack, he fled the scene on the scooter motorcycle. The young woman was hit by 2 bullets in her back. Şahin was seriously injured. Police and health teams were dispatched to the scene upon the report. Nilda Müge, who was taken to a private hospital in Şişli after the first intervention by health teams, could not be saved despite all interventions.

ARRESTED

In the investigation, it was determined that Nazir Ilgın had a total of 6 criminal records, including 3 for 'intentional injury', 1 for 'insult and threat', and 2 under the 'law on the protection of the family and the prevention of violence against women'. After the incident, work was initiated by the Homicide Bureau of the Public Order Branch Directorate and the Public Order Bureau of the Şişli District Police Department to capture the fleeing suspect. While Şahin's sister was visiting her sister's grave, she saw the suspect and called the police. The police caught the suspect Nazir Ilgın today in the forest in Sarıyer Ayazağa. It was learned that Ilgın said he threw the weapon used in the incident into the sea at a place he could not remember. The suspect Nazir Ilgın, who was taken into custody, was referred to the courthouse after his procedures at the police station. The suspect was arrested by the court on the charge of 'intentional killing against a woman' and sent to prison.

THE SUSPECT'S FULL STATEMENT HAS EMERGED

On the other hand, the statement of the suspect Nazir Ilgın has emerged. In his statement, Ilgın said, "As far as I remember, I went to prison in 2020 for the crime of 'attempted intentional killing'. During the period I was in prison, that is, in 2021, due to business going badly, my partner Ali I. transferred the business to a person named Nazan Dilek D. As far as I remember, I had worked with the person named Nazan D. in 2011. In June 2023, I was released from prison indefinitely on Covid-19 leave. However, later my leave period was set as 40 days. During my leave, I went to our business that we had transferred and started working there. During my time working there, I met Nilda Müge Şahin. During my 40-day leave, my meetings with Nilda continued as friends. At the end of 40 days, my Covid leave ended and I returned to prison. I stayed in the closed prison for about 3 months and then moved to the open prison. During this time, I constantly corresponded with Nilda Müge Şahin via letters. She also came to visit me," he said.

"THERE WAS NO PROBLEM BETWEEN US"

Continuing his statement, Nazir Ilgın said, "After being released to the open prison, I took a 10-day leave. During this time, while spending time with Nilda, we had become lovers. I would take a 10-day leave every 3 months, leave prison, and meet with Nilda. Besides Nilda, her mother, her sisters Sedanur and Nazan Dilek were also with us. I would even go to their house. During my time in prison, we communicated via payphone or when Nilda came to visit me. Our meetings continued in the manner I described until my release from prison in February 2026. After leaving prison, I started working at the same business I had transferred. However, Nilda had quit working there due to a fight with her sister and was last working at a market. But after my release, she also left the market. After I left prison, I sat down and talked with Nilda, I told her that I had trusted a woman before but my trust was betrayed, and that I had spent 6 years of my life in prison for this reason. I told her that I wanted to unite my life with her, if I wouldn't experience the same things, and that I wanted to propose marriage. Nilda, on the other hand, told me that there would be no problem between us, and that she would not betray my trust, and we agreed. There was no problem between us," he said.

"SHE DID NOT WANT TO MEET WITH ME"

Nazir Ilgın said, "Nilda told me that her mind was a bit confused about me. When I asked her the reason for her confusion, she said there was someone else on her mind. During my time in prison, I learned that while Nilda was working at the market, she met a Syrian man whose name I knew as Yusuf, and that the reason for Nilda's confusion was this man she had met. After a while, Nilda did not want to meet with me. This affected my psychology considerably. Until about 20 days before the incident, there was no contact between Nilda and me, neither face to face nor by phone. However, starting from the last 20 days, I wanted to talk to Nilda again to meet or at least stay friends. I called her on the phone. I said I wanted to meet. Nilda accepted, and we met at the mall. I told Nilda that I missed her and wanted to get back together. Nilda said, 'I didn't miss you. Everything is over for me. My mind is still confused.' I said let's at least stay friends and continue meeting as friends. However, she did not accept this offer either. After sitting for about 1.5 hours, we left the mall. When Nilda did not accept my offer, I asked her sisters Nazan and Sedanur and her husband Cihan a few times to talk to her to convince her. However, they told me that they talked to Nilda and that she did not want to meet with me," he said.

"I WAS AFRAID OF GOING BACK TO PRISON BECAUSE SHE COMPLAINED"

Nazir Ilgın said, "Nilda had been working as a cleaning staff at the mall for about a month. About 9 days before the incident, I went to the mall to talk to Nilda again. I waited for her to get off work. It was around 16:30. While I was waiting outside the mall, a man I did not recognize got on Nilda's motorcycle, whose license plate I did not know, and Nilda sat behind him. I followed the motorcycle with Nilda on it using my own motorcycle, which was registered in my father's name, Harun I. They went to Gülbahar Neighborhood where Nilda resided. Here, the man driving the motorcycle got off two streets behind the street where Nilda's house was located."

{"text":"Then, while Nilda was riding the motorcycle alone on her way home, I crossed her path. I told Nilda that I missed her. I asked who the person she was with was. At that moment, we were both on our motorcycles side by side. Nilda told me that she no longer wanted me and that the person with her was her boyfriend. When I asked her, 'Is that Yusuf the Syrian?' she said that person was not the same. When I said, 'Didn't you say you wouldn't let anyone into your life, your head was confused, and that's why you didn't want me either,' she replied, 'This is my life, this is how I want it.' I got angry at that moment and, saying 'come to your senses' to Nilda, I hit her left arm twice with my hand. Nilda said she wanted to leave and went away from me, and I also left and went to my workplace. After Nilda left me that same day, she went to the police station and filed a complaint against me. This incident happened on Saturday, and I learned about it because the police officer called me. On Monday, I went to the police station and gave my statement. Until I gave my statement, I met with Nilda's mother, her sister Dilek Nazan and her husband Kerim, and Sedanur's husband Cihan, and I told them to make Nilda withdraw her complaint, saying that this situation would completely affect my past files and that I would stay in prison for 9 years. They all said they would talk to Nilda and that she would withdraw her complaint. However, Nilda did not withdraw her complaint. On Monday, about a week after the incident, I gave my statement, and that night I stayed in the detention cell at the police station. The next day, they sent me to the courthouse, and after giving my statement there, I was released. Three days after this incident, I was notified that there was a 1-month restraining order against me because Nilda had complained about me. After all this happened, I only spoke with her family, saying that Nilda's complaint would affect the rest of my life, that all my past files would be reopened. I said, 'Let her withdraw her complaint, I will completely give up on Nilda.' Nilda's sister and mother were reassuring me by saying they would talk to her. However, I never met Nilda face to face or talked to her on the phone. Due to these events, I started to fear going back to prison. I stopped sleeping at night and started drinking too much alcohol. My father also learned about what happened between Nilda and me and started using insulting words toward me. He said things like, 'Did you get yourself into trouble again because of a girl.'"

"I HEARD A MAN'S VOICE NEXT TO HER, HER HAIR WAS WET, SHE HAD EXPERIENCED SOMETHING"

Nazir Ilgın said, "On the day of the incident, around 17:30, I went out from my workplace to get materials. While moving with my own motorcycle, I saw Nilda's motorcycle in front of a workplace at the entrance of Gülbahar Neighborhood. I got off the motorcycle, entered the workplace, and checked if Nilda was there. However, I realized she was not there. When I checked the other nearby workplaces, I couldn't find Nilda. From there, I got on my motorcycle and bought hairdressing supplies on the roadside in Kurtuluş. Since Nilda had blocked me on the phone, around 18:00-18:30, I called her from a public phone on the roadside in Kurtuluş and said, 'I am calling you for the last time. Withdraw your complaint, I will stay away from you.' Nilda said she would not withdraw her complaint. I said, 'I will find someone else for myself and take care of my own life.' However, Nilda replied, 'Then I will never withdraw it.' When our conversation ended, around 19:00, I went to my workplace. Around 19:45, I left my workplace. With the same motorcycle, I was heading toward Nilda's house. But I saw Nilda's motorcycle again in front of the workplace. I drank 2 bottles of alcohol behind the taxi stand, across from where the motorcycle was. While I was going to get the third bottle, I saw Nilda coming to her motorcycle. Nilda was alone. At that moment, Sedanur came next to Nilda with her own motorcycle. I didn't go near them and watched from a distance. Nilda's motorcycle stayed in the same place, and she got on Sedanur's motorcycle. They left together from there. I followed them with my motorcycle. Together, they went to Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital. I entered the hospital grounds and waited for a while. At that time, it was around 22:00-23:00. While I was standing after getting off the motorcycle, Sedanur's husband Cihan sent me a message saying, 'Are you following the girls?' With that message, I realized that Sedanur had seen me. After the message, Cihan called me. I told Cihan, 'I will talk to Nilda, I want her to withdraw her complaint. I called her today.' Cihan said he would talk to Nilda. He hung up, talked to Nilda, and called me back. He told me that he had talked to Nilda and that she would not withdraw her complaint. After our conversation with Cihan, Kerim also called me. He said, 'What are you trying to do? Come here, leave the girls alone, we'll talk later and get her to withdraw the complaint.'

"SHE NOTICED ME AT THE HOSPITAL AND SAID 'GET LOST'"

Nazir Ilgın said, "When Sedanur realized at the hospital grounds that we were being followed, she shouted things like 'get lost, don't hang around us.' I got on my motorcycle and left the hospital grounds. Before this incident, under the influence of alcohol, I crossed the 15 July Martyrs' Bridge with the motorcycle and went to the Anatolian side. I turned back from the first place I could and returned to the European side, then went to my workplace in the Beşiktaş district. In front of my workplace, I drank some more alcohol while on my motorcycle. I called Nilda's mother, but she didn't answer. I called Kerim, Dilek, and Cihan, but no one answered. Then Cihan called me back. I told Cihan, 'I'm telling you for the last time. Let her withdraw her complaint, or everything will be very bad.' Cihan replied, 'She's not withdrawing, let whatever happens happen.' In that moment of anger, I took the gun I had bought 3 years ago, when I got out of prison, from a person whose name I didn't know in Gazi Neighborhood, from the rooftop of my workplace. After taking the gun, I went directly to that place. Nilda's motorcycle was still there. Thinking that Nilda and Sedanur would come back, I waited in a position where I could see the motorcycle. While waiting here, I continued drinking alcohol behind the taxi stand. As far as I remember, it was around 00:30. They both came by motorcycle. Nilda got on her own motorcycle. With two motorcycles, Sedanur in front and Nilda behind, they stopped in front of the pharmacy on Oya Street in Gülbahar Neighborhood," he said.

HE DESCRIBED THE MOMENT OF THE MURDER

In the continuation of his statement, Nazir Ilgın said, "I also followed them with my motorcycle. Sedanur parked her motorcycle and entered the pharmacy. Nilda was sitting on the motorcycle."

}He had a helmet on his head. Meanwhile, I was watching them from the beginning of the street. My initial goal was to go to Nilda and scare her with a gun by saying, 'I will kill you and myself, but I will not go back to prison.' I started moving on the motorcycle. The gun I had taken from my workplace was in a cross-body bag I was carrying at that time. I approached Nilda and, when I stopped, I took the gun out of the bag. I called out to Nilda, but she didn't hear me. I felt she was talking to someone on the phone. After taking out the gun, I fired twice at Nilda's left rear side. Immediately after, when I was about to shoot myself, I realized the gun had jammed. The second cartridge did not eject and got stuck. For this reason, I could not kill myself. I quickly fled the area with the motorcycle," he said.

\"Suspect

Nazir Ilgın said, \"After the incident, I first went to Armutlu Neighborhood in Sarıyer district. Since I had lived there before, I wanted to fix the gun in the back streets and kill myself. But I couldn't fix the gun. I left there and went to the street of the house where I lived with my family. I left my motorcycle. I left the key in the glove compartment. I didn't call anyone and walked to my workplace. The gun was on me. I looked for a tool to repair the gun. But I couldn't repair it. I took my 2,200 TL from the safe. I stayed at my workplace for about 10 minutes. I looked for clothes to change, but I couldn't find any. I left my workplace and waited in the gap between two side buildings. Then I took a commercial taxi from the side street where the breakfast places are. I got out of the taxi in the back streets of the Beşiktaş neighborhood. I tried to fix the gun again, but it didn't work. I consumed alcohol by the seaside, though I don't remember the exact spot. In anger, I threw the gun into the sea. I walked towards the Bebek area. I went to the Esentepe neighborhood of Şişli district. I stayed in a wooded area until Monday. I bought supplies from nearby markets to meet my needs. I went to a café in the Esentepe area whose name I don't remember and connected to the Wi-Fi to learn about the events. When I went online, I learned from the news that Nilda had died. The news also said she was buried in Şişli cemetery. For this reason, thinking Nilda would be buried in Zincirlikuyu cemetery, I walked around the cemetery and looked for Nilda's grave. When I couldn't find it, I asked a cemetery worker, saying, 'My friend was buried, I'm looking for her grave.' When the worker asked for her name, I gave Nilda's name and learned from the worker that it was the New Bahçeköy Cemetery in Sarıyer district. I went to New Bahçeköy Cemetery via metro and bus transfers. It was Tuesday by then. When I arrived at the cemetery, I walked straight in. When I went to the very end of the cemetery, I saw that the newest graves were there. I had also seen that Sedanur had shared Nilda's grave on a social media account. This way, I found the grave. I stayed by the grave all day. At night, I went into the forested area right behind the grave. I slept in the wooded area. I stayed there until the moment I was caught. On August 12, while I was sleeping in the wooded area, the police came and caught me. While waiting, I tried to cut my finger with glass a few times. I thought about committing suicide, but I couldn't do it. During this process, I didn't contact anyone. No one knew where I was. I am sorry. I wouldn't have wanted it to be this way,\" he was reported to have said.
