The first figure regarding the minimum wage increase rate, which millions have been eagerly awaiting, has come from Central Bank President Fatih Karahan. Karahan, who met with investors in the USA, announced the minimum wage increase rate.

THE INCREASE RATE WILL BE 25 PERCENT

According to sources referring to information obtained from Karahan's meeting with investors on Wednesday, officials indicated that a minimum wage increase of around 25 percent would be consistent with the 2025 inflation outlook.

WORK WILL BE COMPLETED IN DECEMBER

The commission determining the minimum wage will conclude its work in December and announce the 2025 minimum wage to the public. The announced wage will be considered a benchmark not only for those working at the minimum wage but also for other salaried employees.

MEHMET ŞİMŞEK SAID, 'IT WOULD NOT BE APPROPRIATE FOR ME TO COMMENT'

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, in response to a question about the minimum wage, stated, "The minimum wage is determined as a result of negotiations between unions, employers, and the government; at this stage, it would not be appropriate for me to comment. I am confident that the unions, employers, and the government will be sensitive to maintaining a certain level of competitiveness. Therefore, it would not be correct to comment on the process by discussing any figures in advance."
