The central bank's interest rate decision will be announced today.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) will convene under the chairmanship of Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan. On the same day, at 14:00, the interest rate decision will be announced. In the MPC meeting held last month, the policy interest rate was kept unchanged at 50 percent.

ECONOMISTS AGREE ON THE SAME FORECAST

All economists participating in the expectation survey expect the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) to keep the policy interest rate unchanged at 50 percent in November. The expectation survey regarding the upcoming MPC meeting was conducted with the participation of 10 economists.

According to the survey results, all economists predict that the policy interest rate will remain at 50 percent. The average year-end policy interest rate expectation of economists was calculated to be 49.10 percent. Among the economists sharing their year-end expectations, 6 predicted that the policy interest rate would be 50 percent at the end of the year, 1 predicted it would be 48.5 percent, and 3 predicted it would be 47.5 percent.
