LAST INTEREST RATE DECISION OF THE YEAR

The last interest rate decision of the year will be announced at 14:00. In the MPC meeting held last month, the policy rate was kept constant at 50 percent.

EXPECTATIONS RANGE BETWEEN 47.50 AND 50 PERCENT

The expectation survey for the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting was completed with the participation of 14 economists. Of the economists participating in the survey, 4 predicted that the policy rate would be kept unchanged, while 10 anticipated a decrease. The average expectation of the economists was for the rate to be reduced by 150 basis points to 48.50 percent.

According to the survey results, the expectations of the economists for the policy rate ranged between 47.50 and 50.00 percent. The average expectation of economists for the end of 2025 for the policy rate was 29.50 percent.

MARKET PARTICIPANTS SURVEY PUBLISHED

According to the Market Participants Survey of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), the current month-end expectation for the CBRT's policy rate is 48.51 percent, while the expectation for 3 months later has decreased to 43.50 percent. The expectation for the policy rate for 12 months later has increased from 30.84 percent to 30.88 percent.
