Gaziantep ranked first in Turkey in 2024 with 106 products registered with geographical indications. Mehmet Akıncı, the President of the Gaziantep Commodity Exchange (GTB), announced that the registration efforts will continue in 2025 as well.

Gaziantep ranked first in the list of geographical indication products in 2024 with 106 products. Mehmet Akıncı, the Chairman of the Gaziantep Commodity Exchange (GTB), stated in a written statement that the city ranked first nationwide in 2024 with 106 geographical indication products.

Emphasizing that they are a role model with geographical indication products, Akıncı said, "We will continue our registration efforts in 2025 both with the Turkish Patent Office and in the European Union." Akıncı noted that they have also applied for the registration of Antep pistachio paste, Antep lahmacun, Antep musk, and Antep bulgur.
