It was claimed that some surgeries performed at a private hospital operating in Van involved cleaning staff employed at the hospital. It was alleged that a staff member named M.K., who reportedly participated in obstetric, brain, and bypass surgeries, is a primary school graduate and has no training in health matters.

INTERVENTION ON THE PATIENT ON THE OPERATING TABLE

In a recently captured video in the operating room, it appears that the cleaning staff member named M.K., who is at the center of the allegations, intervened with the patient and acted like an assistant to the specialist doctor during a cesarean procedure.

EMPLOYEE CONFIRMED THE ALLEGATIONS

An employee working at the same hospital, who spoke about the allegations against the hospital, stated in a statement, "The allegations are true. The individuals mentioned are staff we know and are aware that they do not have diplomas. In fact, there are even records that one of them performed procedures alone without a specialist doctor present during a surgery. They themselves were saying that they did not have diplomas. Since they worked in a closed environment like the operating room, they could do this without anyone seeing. They were already saying that they did not have diplomas but had been trained that way by doctors for many years. They are self-taught. The hospital management is aware of this situation. The person in question is someone known to the hospital management and directors and participates in many surgeries. Among these surgeries are bypass, obstetrics, and especially neurosurgery operations. These are the personnel who directly assist the doctor during these procedures. Moreover, it is not just one person. We know that there are 6-7 self-taught staff working in the operating room department in this way. We even know that the operating room supervisor does not have a diploma either," he said.

"I HAVE WITNESSED IT MULTIPLE TIMES"

According to a report on T24, a person named K.N., who has been working at the hospital at the center of the allegations for six years, stated, "I have witnessed this diploma-less staff entering surgeries multiple times. I have even seen single-use materials being used in other surgeries multiple times. L.E, M.K, and H.T, these were cleaning staff. They had no health diplomas. They themselves said they were not graduates of health high school or university. We can see that this staff is still continuing to enter surgeries," he said.

HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT DENIED THE ALLEGATIONS

The hospital management denied the allegations. In a statement, it was said, "As Lokman Hekim Health Group, we carry out all our operations within the framework of the rules set by the laws. In relation to the allegations in question, the 'Regulation on the Operation of Inpatient Treatment Institutions' clearly outlines the rules regarding the personnel to be assigned in the operating room. Therefore, the allegations in question are not true."
