The commission has made its decision in the border dispute between the towns of Gümüşler and Aktaş in the central district of Niğde, which came to the agenda due to a camping and caravan area project. As a result of the examinations, it was determined that an area of approximately 1 million square meters lies within the boundaries of Gümüşler Municipality. In line with the decision, approximately 150 residential parcels and plots will be included in the boundaries of Gümüşler Municipality.
The commission established by the Niğde Governorship to address the border dispute that came to the agenda due to the camp and caravan area project between the towns of Gümüşler and Aktaş, conducted studies within the scope of which the existing administrative border between the two towns was re-determined on the land and recorded in a protocol.
DECISION REACHED IN THE BORDER DISPUTE
Commenting on the issue, Gümüşler Mayor Bayram Uzan stated that the work carried out was not about creating a new border, but rather re-identifying the existing border with official records.
Uzan said, "The administrative border determined between Gümüşler and Aktaş in 1957 caused an area of approximately 1 million square meters to appear on the Aktaş side due to errors in land registry and cadastral records. As a result of the comprehensive work carried out by the commission appointed by our Governorship, it was determined that this area falls within the boundaries of Gümüşler Municipality. Thus, the approximately 1 million square meters of area lost by our municipality has been regained for Gümüşler."

Stating that the commission's decision has been notified to the cadastre, Uzan noted that cadastre teams have initiated the necessary work, saying, "After the title deed registration processes are completed, the blocks and parcels will be recorded in the Gümüşler registry. Approximately 150 plots of housing and land will be included within the boundaries of Gümüşler Municipality. The properties currently appearing as 'Aktaş State' will be transferred to the Gümüşler registry after the procedures are finalized. Thus, our citizens living in this area will officially be located within the borders of Gümüşler."
It was reported that after the completion of cadastral procedures, the municipality will begin providing infrastructure services in the mentioned regions.
