The Competition Authority imposed a total administrative fine of 77.8 million lira on Menarini Health and Pharmaceutical Industry and Genveon Pharmaceutical Industry. It was determined during the investigation that these enterprises violated competition.

The Competition Authority decided to impose an administrative fine of 42.1 million lira on Menarini Health and Pharmaceutical Industry Trade Inc. and 35.7 million lira on Genveon Pharmaceutical Industry and Trade Inc.

In a statement published on the Competition Authority's website, it was reported that the investigation conducted regarding these undertakings has been concluded.

The statement noted that within the scope of the investigation to determine whether Menarini Health and Pharmaceutical Industry Trade Inc., which has products such as Arveles, Sulcid, Sustenium, Kaleidon, and Genveon Pharmaceutical Industry and Trade Inc., which has products such as Clasem, Sidefer, Cistus Pastil, violated the Law on the Protection of Competition, the undertakings submitted settlement texts.

TOTAL AMOUNT 77.8 MILLION TURKISH LIRA

In the statement regarding the results of the settlement texts, it was recorded that Menarini Health and Pharmaceutical Industry Trade Inc. exchanged sensitive information with its competitor and violated the law in this way, resulting in an administrative fine of 42 million 148 thousand 808 lira. It was also stated that Genveon Pharmaceutical Industry and Trade Inc. was found to be in agreement/collusive action by making gentlemen's agreements not to hire each other's employees in the labor market with its competitors, thus violating the law, leading to an administrative fine of 35 million 722 thousand 195 lira, and it was decided to conclude the ongoing investigation with a settlement for the mentioned undertakings. Furthermore, the statement reminded that in the same investigation, administrative fines of 33 million 321 thousand 564 lira were previously imposed on GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Industry and Trade Inc., 184 million 363 thousand 976 lira on Abdi İbrahim Pharmaceuticals Industry and Trade Inc., 155 million 488 thousand 332 lira on Science Pharmaceuticals Industry and Trade Inc., and 30 million 593 thousand 234 lira on Drogsan Pharmaceuticals Industry and Trade Inc., and that the investigation was concluded with a settlement for the mentioned undertakings.
