Following reports that the Ortahisar Municipality dumped accumulated waste by the roadside, teams from the Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanism, and Climate Change took action. 2 MILLION 598 THOUSAND TL FINEDuring an inspection in the Çukurçayır Mısırlı Neighborhood, it was determined that waste collection vehicles belonging to the Ortahisar Municipality dumped approximately 150 tons of household waste by the roadside. It was also found that the vehicles continued to dump waste in this area. A fine of 2 million 598 thousand TL was imposed on the Ortahisar Municipality in accordance with the relevant Environmental Law. THREATENING PUBLIC HEALTHIn a statement made on the Ministry's social media account, it was stated, "As a result of the inspection, it was determined that waste collection vehicles belonging to the Ortahisar Municipality dumped approximately 150 tons of household waste by the roadside, are currently continuing to dump, and have caused significant environmental pollution that threatens public health. The Ortahisar Municipality has been warned to collect the waste and send it to a waste facility, and an administrative fine of 2 million 598 thousand TL has been imposed on the municipality in accordance with the Environmental Law.
