The countdown has begun for the high-speed train project that will strengthen the Bursa-Ankara transportation infrastructure. While test drives are planned for the 106-kilometer Bursa-Yenişehir-Osmaneli line within 2026, it is aimed to be put into service by the end of the year. The rails of the project, which is expected to reduce travel time between Bursa and Ankara to 2 hours and 15 minutes upon completion, were filmed by drone.

The high-speed train project covering Bursa-Yenişehir-Osmaneli is nearing completion.

IT WILL REDUCE THE DISTANCE BETWEEN BURSA AND ANKARA TO 2 HOURS AND 15 MINUTES

The first journey on the high-speed train, which will have a positive impact on many aspects from Bursa's economy to its tourism and will reduce the distance between Bursa and Ankara to 2 hours and 15 minutes, will take place at the end of 2026. The rails of the high-speed train between Bursa and Ankara were also filmed with a drone.

At the meeting held recently at the high-speed railway line construction site, in addition to Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Şahin Biba, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure General Director of Infrastructure Investments Dr. Yalçın Eyigün, AK Party Bursa Provincial Chairman Davut Gürkan, AK Party Bursa MPs Emel Gözükara Durmaz, Refik Özen, Ahmet Kılıç, Ayhan Salman, district municipality mayors, and relevant managers were also present.

"IT WILL BE OPERATIONAL BY THE END OF 2026, GOD WILLING"

AK Party Bursa Provincial Chairman Gürkan, making statements about the 106-kilometer high-speed railway line, which is one of the largest projects of Bursa and even the Marmara region, used the following expressions: "May this major investment, which will breathe life into Bursa's transportation and strengthen its economy, be beneficial to the Marmara region. The year 2026 is very important for us. We can say it is one of the largest projects of Bursa and even the Marmara region. Today, together with the project's authors, we examined the progress regarding the activation of our 106-kilometer high-speed railway line. God willing, in the upcoming process, by the 4th or 5th month, the systems related to electrical systems will likely be put into operation. By the 7th month, we expect the test train to be on the rails and start testing. Subsequently, by the end of 2026, God willing, our high-speed railway line will be operational for our fellow citizens from Bursa.

"OUR CITY HOSPITAL RAIL SYSTEM WILL ALSO BE IN SERVICE FOR THE PEOPLE OF BURSA"

Of course, it doesn't end just with this. As you know, the activation of the Emek-City Hospital line up to the station area is also very important for us. Our contractor company will also activate our Emek-City Hospital line, God willing, together with the activation of the high-speed train. This is actually a major integration for us. Looking specifically at Bursa, by the end of 2026, God willing, our high-speed train and our city hospital rail system will be operational and will be in service for the people of Bursa."

"WE WILL START PROJECTS THAT OUR FELLOW CITIZENS WILL BE PLEASED WITH AS SOON AS POSSIBLE"

Bursa Metropolitan Deputy Mayor Biba said, "As you know, in our Bursa, we have a line starting from Kestel and extending to the university. We also had our T2 line from there. But this, of course, does not meet the needs of our fellow citizens from Bursa in rail systems. We have been working on this for a long time, we have interconnections. We have just consulted together about these as well. Of course, we tried to conclude our meeting with the aim of taking action on this as soon as possible. So, we hope that we will start soon with projects that our fellow citizens from Bursa are waiting for and will be pleased with."
