The current state of the teams that were once in the Super League is pitiful.

Once, clubs that we frequently heard of in the Super League have fallen to lower divisions due to economic problems. Clubs that are unable to make transfers because of financial issues and are forced to compete in lower leagues once again highlight the importance of the financial aspect of football.

Once upon a time, clubs that we frequently heard of in the Super League could not hold on here and were relegated to lower leagues. Many of these teams are going through tough times due to economic problems.

In Turkish football, where referee decisions are debated and mutual statements between clubs are increasing day by day, the economic difficulties faced by some teams are also noteworthy. Teams in the Super League, which are in a better financial situation compared to lower leagues, struggle to overcome the difficulties they face after being relegated.

In the professional leagues where 139 teams compete, the Club Licensing Board imposed point deductions on 6 teams from the Super League, 1st League, and 2nd League based on their review of sports, football social responsibility, infrastructure, personnel-administrative, legal, and financial criteria under the National Club Licensing System.

Adana Demirspor from the Super League, Nazillispor, Afyonspor, Giresunspor, Bucaspor 1928, and Altay from the 2nd League were each penalized with a three-point deduction.

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee imposed a total of 18 points deducted from Yeni Malatyaspor, a 1st League team, with 6 points from 3 separate files, and 6 points deducted from Giresunspor, a representative of the 2nd League, from 1 file.

ECONOMIC PROBLEMS DO NOT LEAVE THEM ALONE

Some teams continuing their journey in the professional leagues cannot make transfers due to debts from previous periods.

Yeni Malatyaspor, which continues to compete in the 1st League, was away from the leagues for 1.5 years after experiencing economic difficulties following the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş after saying goodbye to the Super League. The Malatya representative, which returned to the leagues this season, is going through tough times.

After being relegated from the Super League in 2021-2022 and dropping to the 2nd League, Altay is currently in the relegation zone in the 2nd League White Group. The black-and-white team, which has not succeeded in its efforts to corporate, continues with some players in its squad as well as young names.

In Karşıyaka, the İzmir representative continuing its struggle in the 3rd League, no candidates emerged for the presidency in the extraordinary general assembly. A new congress for the green-red club will be held on Tuesday, December 24.

DENİZLİSPOR REMAINS OWNERLESS

After being relegated from the Super League, no candidates emerged for the management in the extraordinary general assembly of Denizlispor, which dropped to the 3rd League.

The Denizlispor Club, whose football team has dropped to the 3rd League, represented Turkey in the UEFA Cup, then known by that name, in 2002-2003. That season, the green-black team reached the last 16 round but was eliminated from the organization after losing to the Portuguese team Porto, which went on to win the cup.

Having spent 21 seasons in the Super League, Denizlispor was relegated from the Super League in 2020-2021, from the 1st League in 2022-2023, and could not hold on in the TFF 2nd League last season.

After experiencing championship in the Super League, Bursaspor has dropped to the 3rd League and is currently leading the 3rd League Group 1, having continued its journey undefeated after restructuring at the beginning of this season, 11 points ahead of its closest rivals.

THEY FELL TO THE AMATEUR LEAGUE

Akhisarspor, which competed uninterrupted for 7 seasons in the Super League and won the Turkey Cup and TFF Super Cup once each during this period, and also competed in the UEFA Europa League, dropped to the Regional Amateur League last year after a rapid decline. The Manisa representative became the 32nd team to play in the Super League and drop to amateur.

This season, Akhisarspor, which conceded 16 goals and did not score in its first 2 matches in the Regional Amateur League Group 8, dropped to the Super Amateur League due to its decision not to participate in subsequent matches.

Orduspor, Gaziantepspor, Kardemir Karabükspor, Kayseri Erciyesspor, Mersin İdmanyurdu, and Eskişehirspor, which have represented Turkey in Europe, also could not hold on in the professional leagues.
