The bridge connecting Diyarbakır and Malatya provinces, located in the Çüngüş district below the Karakaya Dam, was damaged and closed to traffic due to water discharge from the dam.

At the Karakaya Dam, Turkey's third-largest dam on the Euphrates River, water has been discharged for days due to the filling of the dam reservoir.

BRIDGE COULD NOT WITHSTAND THE WATER FLOW

At the Karakaya Dam, where 6 layers of water discharge are open, the entrance section of the bridge was damaged due to the pressure caused by the water discharge. Authorities closed the bridge to traffic as a precaution to avoid any adverse situation.

CONNECTING MALATYA AND DIYARBAKIR

This bridge, which once connected two provinces, now struggles to withstand the force of the waters. The bridge connects Diyarbakır's Çüngüş district and Malatya's Pütürge district.
