Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay an official visit to China on May 19-20.
In a statement from the Kremlin Palace, it was announced that Putin will visit Beijing on May 19-20 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The statement noted that during the visit, Putin and Xi will discuss steps to further deepen the comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation between Russia and China, and they will also exchange views on international and regional issues.
The statement said that Putin and Xi will attend the opening ceremony of the event titled "2026-2027 Russia and China Education Years," and following the talks, it is planned to sign a high-level joint statement as well as intergovernmental, interagency, and some other bilateral documents.
Putin and Xi last met in China in September 2025 within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit.
