The regulation change published in the Official Gazette has extended the 6-month condition and the 6,000-kilometer condition for the buying and selling of second-hand vehicles from January 1, 2025, to July 1, 2025. The Ministry of Trade has also been granted the authority to extend this period by up to six months. The Regulation on the Amendment of the Regulation on the Trade of Motor Vehicles has been published in the Official Gazette. Accordingly, those engaged in the trade of second-hand motor vehicles, including motorcycles, cars, and off-road vehicles, will not be able to market or sell them directly or indirectly before July 1, 2025, unless six months and six thousand kilometers have passed since the first registration date. AUTHORITY TO THE MINISTRYThe marketing of second-hand motor vehicles at a price higher than the current selling price recommended by the manufacturer or distributor will also not be allowed until July 1, 2025. Furthermore, the Ministry of Trade has been granted the authority to extend this period by up to six months.
