The deadline for vehicle inspection stations is tomorrow.

09.01.2025 13:43

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance Privatization Administration (ÖİB) will hold a tender for the privatization of the construction, maintenance, and operation services of vehicle inspection stations in two regions. The deadline for applications to the tender is January 10, 2025.

For vehicle inspection stations, which are a frequent stop for millions of vehicles in Turkey for mandatory inspections, a new tender will be organized. According to the announcement published in the Official Gazette by the Privatization Administration of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance,

THE NEW TENDER WILL BE VALID FOR 20 YEARS

The construction, maintenance, and operation services of the vehicle inspection stations in the 1st and 2nd Regions will be privatized for a period of 20 years by granting a concession right within the framework of relevant laws and appropriate legal actions.

The tender specification fee per region has been set at 750,000 lira, and the temporary guarantee fee has been determined as 15 million dollars. The deadline for submitting the final bids for the tenders has been announced as January 10, 2025.

The tender will be conducted through a bargaining method by receiving closed bids from multiple bidders and holding negotiations, and it will be concluded through an open auction with the participation of the bidders with whom negotiations are ongoing.

THERE IS A 5-YEAR CONDITION

Bidders wishing to participate in the tender must have operated as an operator or subcontractor in the vehicle inspection sector for at least 5 years and must present a document to the administration proving that they have conducted inspection operations for at least a total of 1 million vehicles within a 5-year period.

INCREASE IN VEHICLE INSPECTION FEES HAS CAUSED OUTRAGE AMONG DRIVERS

The increase in vehicle inspection fees with the new year has caused outrage among drivers. Drivers, who are in a difficult situation due to rising costs and economic conditions, are reacting to this situation on social media.

Tüvtürk announced the vehicle inspection price list for 2025. Accordingly, an increase was made in the inspection fees for all vehicles valid in 2024 at the revaluation rate (%43.93). This situation has caused great unrest among vehicle owners.

The new price list on the website is as follows:

The last day for vehicle inspection stations is tomorrow

- Car, Minibus, Pickup, Special Purpose Vehicle, Off-Road Vehicle, Trailer, and Semi-Trailer Inspection Fee: Increased from 1,821 TL to 2,620 TL.

- Bus, Truck, Tow Truck, and Tanker Inspection Fee: Set at 3,543.60 TL.

ANOTHER REACTION TO THE SERVICE FEE

A warning in Tüvtürk's new price list also drew attention. In the explanation under the "Vehicle Inspection Fee Payment" section, it stated, "Payments can be made in all our stations by credit card, debit card, and cash. For transactions made by credit card or debit card, the service fee determined by the service provider company according to legal regulations is added to the payment amount," which has become a separate topic of discussion. Vehicle owners, who already have to pay high fees, emphasized that there should be no service fee.
