President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the 21st Imam Hatip Graduates Congress. Erdoğan said the following about the lieutenants: "Recently, some exploiters emerged during the graduation ceremony and drew swords. Who are you drawing these swords against? Now, all the necessary investigations are being conducted regarding them, and a few of those who do not know themselves will be cleansed. We did not come here for no reason. There may be 30 or 50 of them, whoever they are, it is not possible for them to be in our army. We will cleanse them.
