ACCUSATION OF SECRET VIDEO BY JOURNALISTS

White House Communications Director Steven Cheung claimed in a post on the social media platform X, based in the U.S., that some journalists were found to have secretly recorded videos in the mentioned offices and entered restricted areas.

JOURNALISTS' ASSOCIATION REACTED TO THE DECISION

The White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) expressed its reaction to the decision, stating, "We oppose any restrictions on access to areas open for news purposes." The "Senior Press" section located in the West Wing of the White House complex includes the offices of the spokesperson, communications director, and other senior officials.

Accredited journalists holding press credentials issued by the U.S. Secret Service have been able to freely enter and exit this area and directly ask questions to officials until now.

THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE ALSO IMPOSED CONTROL ON NEWS

The U.S. Department of Defense also announced new rules at the beginning of October, aiming to impose control on news from Department sources and to implement new regulations regarding the areas journalists can access within the building, requesting press members to sign a document containing these rules.
