EXCEEDED 140 THOUSANDIn the statement, it was noted that more than 140 thousand migrants were deported in 2024, stating, "As part of our fight against irregular migration, we carried out all deportation processes, including the identification of irregular migrants and their detention under administrative supervision in Return Centers, in accordance with our human rights, legal, and civilizational values. Thanks to an effective deportation mechanism, we reached the highest number of deportations in history in 2023. The number of deportations in 2024 has exceeded 140 thousand, surpassing the previous year." "MIGRANT SMUGGLERS HANDED OVER TO JUSTICE"The statement also emphasized that "In the fight against irregular migration and migrant smuggling for the peace and security of Turkey, operations and inspections under the 'Shield' operation have been carried out continuously and decisively in cooperation with law enforcement agencies. While the captured migrant smugglers are handed over to justice, we have quickly initiated the processes for the repatriation of identified irregular migrants to their countries.
