On October 3, the process of exhumation was completed at the Forensic Medicine Institution for the bones of Cem Garipoğlu, which were taken from his grave. The bones found in the grave were determined to belong to Cem Garipoğlu. In a statement from the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was noted that "Following claims that Cem Garipoğlu, who was determined to have committed suicide in prison and was buried, was not dead and that the person buried was someone else, an exhumation process was carried out on October 3, 2024, at the request of the Karabulut family and the decision of the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office." After the examination conducted by experts from the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institution, DNA analyses on bones, teeth, and all other samples in the Biology Specialization Department were carried out with great diligence. As a result of the procedures, it was stated that the samples taken from the grave belonged to Cem Garipoğlu, the joint child of Father Mehmet Nida and Mother Tülay Makbule, and that this individual had the exact same DNA profile as the person who was determined to have committed suicide in 2014 after an autopsy was performed. Details are coming...
