In a dramatic incident in Colorado Springs, passengers quickly intervened after the bus driver became unwell at the wheel. Security camera footage shows the driver suddenly collapsing and two brave passengers immediately springing into action. The first passenger, holding a coffee cup, checked on the driver's condition, while another passenger sitting at the back of the bus ran forward and took control of the vehicle. This heroic passenger immediately radioed the center, saying, "Center, I am on bus number 1 heading south. The driver is having a seizure. I am parking the bus. He is breathing but appears to have stopped seizing." Mountain Metropolitan Transit confirmed that the driver passed away following a medical emergency on the bus, which had three passengers. The driver's identity has not been disclosed at the family's request. Company spokesperson Elaine Sheridan stated that they want to reach out to the heroic passengers, saying, "We want to thank them for their assistance that morning and offer them a free travel card." It was learned that the first passenger left the scene to go to work, while the second passenger's name is known but they could not be reached.
