After the accident in Aksaray, where a tour bus overturned into a ditch resulting in the death of 6 people and injuries to 34 others, bus driver Nurhan Hazer stated, "The morning sun blinded me, it lightly touched the barriers. While trying to save it, we flew into the ditch."
The accident occurred around 07:00 at the Acıpınar location on the Aksaray-Ankara highway. According to the information obtained, the Mercedes passenger bus belonging to Akhisar Seyahat, with license plate 45 HB 0560, driven by Nurhan Hazer (60), overturned into the ditch after the driver lost control of the steering wheel, crashing into the barriers and being dragged for about 70 meters.
6 PEOPLE DIED, 34 PEOPLE INJURED
Upon notification, a large number of ambulances, fire brigade, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. According to initial determinations, 6 people lost their lives in the accident, and 34 people were injured. The injured were given first aid at the scene by the ambulances that arrived, and then 24 were taken to Aksaray Training and Research Hospital, while 10 were taken to private hospitals. It was learned that 4 of the injured being treated here were in serious condition. While the identity verification of the 6 deceased individuals continues, the bodies were taken to the morgue for autopsy.
AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN INITIATED REGARDING THE ACCIDENT
Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç stated, "An official investigation has been initiated by the Aksaray Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the bus accident that occurred on the Aksaray-Ankara highway, and 3 public prosecutors have been assigned. I wish God's mercy upon our citizens who lost their lives in the accident, patience to their families, and urgent healing to the injured citizens," he said.

Speaking to the press at the scene after the accident, bus driver Nurhan Hazer said, "The morning sun blinded me, it lightly touched the barriers. While trying to save it, we flew into the ditch." Some injured individuals who escaped the accident with minor scratches stated that they survived thanks to their seat belts.
