In Istanbul, a price increase of up to 115% has been implemented for the parking lots operated by İSPARK. The third session of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Council's December meeting was held at the municipality building in Saraçhane, chaired by the 1st Vice President of the Council, Nuri Aslan. The proposal for a price increase of up to 115% for the parking lots operated by the IMM subsidiary İSPARK was discussed in the council. PROPOSAL FOR A 115% INCREASEIn the price increase proposal, within the scope of the Sustainable Urban Transportation Plan, it was suggested that the parking fees for vehicles in closed and open parking lots in the Fatih/Historical Peninsula and Kadıköy/Dock areas be increased from 70 lira to 150 lira for up to 1 hour, from 90 lira to 180 lira for 1-2 hours, from 110 lira to 220 lira for 2-4 hours, from 135 lira to 275 lira for 4-8 hours, from 180 lira to 350 lira for 8-12 hours, and from 270 lira to 500 lira for 12-24 hours. In the roadside parking lots in the same area, it was requested that the parking fee for vehicles be increased from 70 lira to 150 lira for up to 1 hour, from 90 lira to 200 lira for 1-2 hours, from 195 lira to 400 lira for daily fees, and from 30 lira to 50 lira for each subsequent hour. Additionally, in closed, open parking lots, and roadside parking lots; in Adalar, Arnavutköy, Avcılar, Bağcılar, Başakşehir, Beylikdüzü, Büyükçekmece, Çatalca, Çekmeköy, Esenler, Esenyurt, Gaziosmanpaşa, Küçükçekmece, Sancaktepe, Silivri, Sultangazi, Sultanbeyli, and Şile, it was requested that the 1-hour parking fee, which is currently 50 lira, be increased to 60 lira, the fee for 1-2 hours from 60 lira to 70 lira, the fee for 2-4 hours from 80 lira to 90 lira, the fee for 4-8 hours from 100 lira to 110 lira, the fee for 8-12 hours from 150 lira to 160 lira, and the fee for 12-24 hours from 195 lira to 200 lira. In the roadside parking lots in these districts, it was requested that the fee for vehicles for up to 1 hour be increased from 50 lira to 60 lira, the parking fee for 1-2 hours from 70 lira to 80 lira, the daily fee from 165 lira to 190 lira, and the fee for each subsequent hour to be 30 lira. FEES FOR RECREATION AREAS HAVE ALSO INCREASEDOn the other hand, an increase in entrance fees to forests, groves, and recreation areas has also been requested. Accordingly, it was requested that the entrance fee for cars be increased from 141 lira to 170 lira, for minibuses-vans-panel vans from 403 lira to 420 lira, for midibuses from 708 lira to 750 lira, for buses-trucks from 1418 lira to 1500 lira, and for motorcycles from 94 lira to 100 lira. At taxi stands, it was proposed that the entrance-exit fee for taxis be increased from 19 lira to 25 lira, and the daily fee from 80 lira to 100 lira. PRICE INCREASE PROPOSAL ACCEPTEDIn the vote held in the council, the AK Party voted "no" to the İSPARK parking fee increase proposal. The proposal was accepted with the votes of the CHP members. İSPARK's new fee schedule will come into effect on January 1, 2025. The last increase in these fees was made on October 11, 2023, by 57%, and on June 12, 2024, by up to 50%.
