The European Fair Play award ceremony will celebrate its 30th anniversary in Mardin.

The European Fair Play Movement (EFPM) will hold an international congress and award event in Mardin to celebrate its 30th anniversary. The events, which will take place in Mardin, selected as one of the most suitable places for the spirit of Fair Play due to its characteristic of being a meeting point of civilizations, will host guests from 41 countries. The preparation committee has come to the city and started its work, and the events will be held between October 21-24.

In the 30th year of the establishment of the European Fair Play Movement, an award ceremony and congress will be held in Mardin. Bilge Donuk, a faculty member at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa and the Vice President of the Fair Play Commission of the Turkish National Olympic Committee, stated that guests from 41 countries have been invited to the event, saying, "I personally love Mardin very much. I think it is a very suitable city in terms of hosting. The Mardin Governorship, the Culture and Tourism Directorate, and businessman Mehmet Samsa are supporting us. With their contributions, we will hold a beautiful congress. 41 countries that are members of the European Fair Play Movement have been invited. An award ceremony will be held, and a scientific congress will be organized. Nearly 20 awards will be presented at the event. There will be a program in the form of both an award ceremony and a congress. We are also planning a tour for our guests to get to know Mardin and this region."

MEMBERS NOMINATED FOR EUROPE WILL ALSO RECEIVE AWARDS

Remzi Yılmaz, a member of the Turkish National Olympic Committee and the Vice President of the Fair Play Commission, stated that they are working to spread Fair Play worldwide, saying, "Members from other countries, like us, who have won awards in their own countries or have been nominated for Europe will receive their awards here. Among these, there are awards for behavior shown while actively participating in various sports or awards for a lifetime dedicated to sports. Therefore, awards can be received in different areas. In Turkey, there is an award in the behavior category. This award is won for gentlemanly behavior towards any opponent in the sports field. We have an award in the career category. Additionally, there are awards in the social field that are different in Turkey and worldwide. This is an award given for Fair Play behaviors shown in normal life outside of sports, and in this way, we are striving to spread Fair Play to the whole world," he expressed.
