According to Iranian state television, Semnan Judiciary Chief Mohammad Sadik Ekberi provided information on the matter.
Ekberi stated, "The qisas punishment given to a man found guilty of intentionally killing his wife by strangulation was carried out this morning in public in the city of Semnan, at the request of the victim's relatives and after all legal processes were completed." The Iranian official noted that the incident, which occurred in 2020, came to light through a report from a health center, and that investigations conducted by expert teams revealed that the man had intentionally killed his wife.
