COMMAND CENTERS OF THE US 5TH FLEET TARGETED
Iranian media reported that the Revolutionary Guard Corps struck the Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, as well as command centers and military infrastructure facilities of the US 5th Fleet stationed in Bahrain.
IRAN: CEASEFIRE WAS CLEARLY VIOLATED
In a statement from the military, it was argued that Washington's recent steps clearly violated the memorandum of understanding and ceasefire conditions signed between the two countries.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On the day the world's eyes were turned to the NATO Summit in Ankara, commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz were targeted with missiles. The US stated that this was an attack carried out by Iran and that Iran violated the ceasefire, striking over 80 military targets in Iran.
CENTCOM stated that Iran targeted commercial ships including the Marshall Islands-flagged M/T Al Rekayyat, the Saudi Arabia-flagged M/T Wedyan, and the Liberia-flagged M/T Cyprus Prosperity.
The statement said, "This unjustified aggression by Iranian forces is a clear and dangerous violation of the ceasefire and undermines freedom of navigation." The US military also emphasized that it is ready to take new steps if Iran fails to comply with agreements.
