The famous cheese shop, which has over 60 branches, has gone bankrupt.

The company "Meşhur Peynirci," which operates under the Çelikoğlu Gıda umbrella in Ankara and is one of Turkey's leading cheese producers with over 60 branches, has gone bankrupt.

The global economic crisis has led to the bankruptcy of many companies, and the latest addition to the list in Turkey is "Famous Cheesemaker."

IT WAS AN IMPORTANT PLAYER IN THE SECTOR

Operating for years as one of the most recognized brands in Ankara, Famous Cheesemaker had over 60 branches and had rapidly grown into a significant player in the sector in the early 2000s.

SERIOUS FINANCIAL TROUBLES BEGAN TO EMERGE

Operating under the umbrella of Çelikoğlu Food, Famous Cheesemaker quickly spread across Turkey and managed to become one of the major brands in the sector. However, the economic contraction experienced in recent years hindered the company's growth. By the mid-2010s, serious financial troubles began to emerge due to rising rent and labor costs. In 2018, the company shifted to a new strategy by closing its branches one by one. The firm, which now focused on selling cheese only through various businesses, hoped to overcome the economic crisis with this method. However, all these efforts were not enough to alleviate the company's debt burden.

THE COMPANY'S BANKRUPTCY WAS OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED

While Famous Cheesemaker added flavor to the tables of many people over the years, the news finally came that this long-established brand had come to an end. The decision taken by the Ankara Bankruptcy Office on November 14 officially announced the company's bankruptcy. Selling cheese across Turkey for half a century, Famous Cheesemaker came to an end due to economic difficulties and strategic mistakes.
