In the evening hours, a prisoner set his bed on fire in Metris Prison located in Esenler, Istanbul. While numerous fire brigade teams were dispatched to the prison, the fire was quickly extinguished.

Several fire trucks arrived at the Metris Prison in Esenler, Istanbul in the evening hours. It is alleged that the inmates set their beds on fire and started a rebellion.

There were eventful hours at the Metris Prison in Esenler district of Istanbul. Numerous fire trucks were dispatched to the prison where many inmates are held.

ALLEGATIONS OF "INMATES STARTED A REBELLION"

No official statement has been made regarding the fire. It is claimed that the inmates started a rebellion to protest the poor conditions in the prison and set their beds on fire.
