The first comment from President Erdoğan on the inflation data announced today.

Critical inflation data for millions of SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees, as well as civil servants and civil servant retirees, was announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute. According to TÜİK, inflation in December 2024 increased by 1.03% compared to the previous month, while annual inflation reached 44.38%. Thus, the 6-month inflation difference rate that SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees will receive as an increase and the increase rate in civil servant and retiree salaries has been determined.

Following the announced data, a noteworthy evaluation came from President Erdoğan. Speaking at the '2024 Foreign Trade Figures Announcement Program' at the Haliç Congress Center, Erdoğan stated, "The inflation data announced this morning for 2024 confirms the correctness of the policies we have implemented. While it was 1.03% in December, it decreased to 44.38% on an annual basis. In 2025, our inflation rate will also align with the levels announced in the medium-term program and the inflation report. Hopefully, more developments will follow. The markets trust our government and our policies, and together with all of this, they trust the strong potential of the Turkish economy," he said.
