The governor Kemal Kızılkaya, who was appointed as a trustee to the Siirt Municipality by the Ministry of Interior, had the Turkish flag hung at the municipal building.
In the local elections held on March 31, the municipality of Siirt was won by Sofya Alağaş from the DEM Party. Alağaş was sentenced to 6 years and 3 months in prison for the crime of "being a member of an armed terrorist organization" yesterday at the Diyarbakır 5th Heavy Penal Court, where a terrorism investigation against him was conducted.
FIRST MOVE FROM TRUSTEE KIZILKAYA
Following the removal of Alağaş, Governor Kemal Kızılkaya was appointed by the Ministry of Interior. After the decision, DEM Party members gathered in front of the municipality. A Turkish flag was hung on the municipal building after the trustee decision.
WHO IS KEMAL KIZILKAYA?
Kemal Kızılkaya, who was appointed as the trustee of Siirt Municipality, is registered in Eskişehir and was born in 1975. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law in 1997. He completed his internship at the Ankara Bar Association. He holds a Notary Public Certificate. He also has the title of Expert Mediator in the field of Legal Disputes.
After receiving foreign language education at the University of Exeter in England, he completed his Master's degree in Public Administration and Political Science at the Institute of Social Sciences of Ankara University, and his PhD in Public Administration at the Institute of Social Sciences of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University. He has participated in many training, conferences, and study visits both domestically and abroad. He has given lectures and conferences as a Visiting Lecturer in Law, Public Administration, and Management Sciences at the higher education level. He has published books and articles in the field of management sciences.
He started his career in the Ministry of Interior in 1999 as a District Governor Candidate in Nevşehir. In succession;

- 2021 - 2023 served as the Governor of Bilecik.
- He was appointed as the Governor of Siirt with the Presidential Appointment Decree numbered 2023/376 dated 10.08.2023.
Due to his successful work in the places he served, he has been awarded many times with certificates of Superior Achievement, Achievement, Appreciation, Thanks, and Honorary Citizenship by the Minister, Governor, Municipal Council, Civil Society, and Professional Organizations. He is married and has two children.
