In Van, the lifeless bodies of two individuals were found in a car that rolled into the Zernek Dam Lake after losing control by the driver. While search efforts for one person are ongoing, security camera footage from the moment of the incident has emerged. The footage shows the moments when the car lost control and rolled into the dam lake from a height of approximately 100 meters at a curve.
A terrible accident occurred at 09:30 on the 45th kilometer of the Van-Hakkari highway. The car, which lost control of its driver, rolled into the Zernek Dam Lake. Upon notification, AFAD, UMKE, gendarmerie, and health teams were dispatched to the area. It was learned that there were 3 people in the car, and teams began search and rescue operations in the region.
After the search operations in the lake, the lifeless body of Rojhat Durğun (in the photo) was found. 2 BODIES RECOVERED While teams searched the dam lake using fiber boats used by fishermen, diving teams also conducted dives in the area where the vehicle rolled over. Search operations in the lake led to the discovery of the lifeless bodies of Rojhat Durğun (21) and Cihat Durna (20).
After the search operations in the lake, the lifeless body of Cihat Durna (in the photo) was found. The bodies of the 2 individuals, who were taken out of the water and brought to the ambulance, were sent to Van for autopsy procedures. Efforts are ongoing to find the other missing person.
