The funeral schedule of Ferdi Tayfur has changed.

The master artist Ferdi Tayfur, a prominent figure in Arabesque music, passed away last night at the hospital in Antalya where he was receiving treatment. Ferdi Tayfur, who died at the age of 79 due to liver and kidney failure, had a change in his planned funeral ceremony due to 'high attendance'.

FUNERAL PROGRAM CHANGED

According to a statement made by Recep Ergül, the President of the Turkish Musicians' Rights Owners Professional Union (MESAM), a funeral ceremony will be held for the master artist on Saturday, January 4th at the Atatürk Cultural Center. Tayfur's funeral will take place after the afternoon prayer at Levent Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque, and he will be laid to rest at Yeniköy Cemetery. Tayfur's press advisor Şirin Gözalıcı made a statement regarding the funeral ceremony on social media. Gözalıcı stated, "Correction: Due to high attendance, the funeral prayer for Mr. Ferdi Tayfur will be held after the memorial ceremony at Levent Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque." In a previous statement, it was mentioned, "After the memorial ceremony for Mr. Ferdi Tayfur, which will be held on Saturday at 12:00 at the Atatürk Cultural Center, the funeral prayer will be held at Emirgan Çınaraltı Mosque, and he will be buried in the family cemetery in Yeniköy following the afternoon prayer."

HIS BODY WAS BROUGHT TO ISTANBUL

The funeral of the famous artist, who saddened his fans with the news of his death, was brought from Antalya to Istanbul by plane. The body of Ferdi Tayfur, taken by officials from the plane, was transported to the cargo terminal. After the procedures at the airport, Tayfur's body was received by his relatives.

CAUSE OF DEATH REVEALED

It was reported that 79-year-old artist Ferdi Tayfur, who was receiving treatment at a hospital in Antalya, passed away due to liver and kidney failure. A written statement was made by the Chief Physician of Medical Park Antalya Hospital Complex regarding the artist's death.

The statement indicated that the artist was brought to the hospital by military plane on December 16 for surgery to clean his sinuses due to a previously developed fungal infection. It was noted, "After the surgery, our artist's health condition was improving, but unfortunately, he was admitted to intensive care due to rapidly progressing liver and kidney failure yesterday afternoon. Despite ongoing intensive treatment and all efforts of his doctors, our artist passed away at 19:38. As Medical Park Hospitals, we are deeply saddened to inform his fans that the beloved artist of Turkish music, Mr. Ferdi Tayfur, has left us due to liver and kidney failure."
