The Goalball Women's National Team of Turkey became the Olympic champions for the 3rd consecutive time.

The Goalball Women's National Team won the gold medal for the third consecutive time in the final of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, defeating Israel 8-3. With this result, the national team became the Olympic champion for the third time in a row after Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020. Moreover, Turkey, which had its best Paralympic Games in history, won a total of 19 medals.

In the semi-final match played at the South Paris Arena, Turkey, the reigning champion of the last two Paralympic Games, faced Israel in order to defend their title. Turkey, who finished the first half leading 7-2, also won the match 8-3 and became the owner of the gold medal.

3-TIME OLYMPIC CHAMPION IN A ROW

Visually impaired national athletes who won the gold medal in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 also achieved this in Paris 2024, making history in Turkish sports. The Goalball Women's National Team became the team that won the most gold medals for Turkey in the Paralympic Games. The squad, led by head coach Gültekin Karasu, who brought the gold medal to the national team, included Sevda Altunoluk, Fatma Gül Güler, Reyhan Yılmaz, Şeydanur Kaplan, Sevtap Altunoluk, and Berfin Altın. The match was also watched by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Osman Aşkın Bak.
