The housing price index increased by 26.8% year-on-year.

The Housing Price Index (HPI) increased by 2.1% month-on-month and 26.8% year-on-year in October 2024. Housing prices also rose in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir.

The Housing Price Index (HPI) increased by 2.1% month-on-month and 26.8% year-on-year in October 2024. The HPI, calculated to track the price changes of housing in Turkey adjusted for quality effects (2023=100), rose to 151.1 in October, marking a 2.1% increase compared to the previous month.

ANNUAL INCREASE OF 26.8%

While the HPI increased by 26.8% year-on-year in October, the real decrease during this period was 14.7%. Looking at the HPI changes for the three major cities, there was an increase of 1.1% in Istanbul, 2.8% in Ankara, and 4.5% in Izmir compared to the previous month.

Compared to the same month last year, the index values increased by 21.2% in Istanbul, 32.5% in Ankara, and 28.7% in Izmir.
