The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's proposal for a 46% increase in public transportation fares was rejected at the UKOME meeting. The decision has been sent to the subcommittee.

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) discussed the public transportation fare increase rates at the UKOME meeting held today. The proposed 55% fare increase requested by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality was reduced to 46.09%. However, this rate was also not accepted, and the fare increase proposal was sent back to the subcommittee for further discussion.



In the upcoming process, the fare increase proposal that will emerge after the meetings in the subcommittee will be brought to the UKOME agenda and then the proposal will be voted on.

The currently applied fare schedule is as follows:



Full ticket: 20 lira



Student: 9.76 lira



Teacher and 60 years: 14.32 lira



Student subscription: 282.5 lira



Full subscription: 1569 lira



Metrobüs - Full: 29.68 lira



Metrobüs - Teacher and 60 years: 16.28 lira



Metrobüs - Student: 9.76 lira
