The latest product from Apple, the iPhone 16 and its models, went on sale in Turkey on September 20. After the launch, there were familiar faces in the long queues formed at the store doors. As with every new iPhone model, it turned out that the vast majority of those waiting in line were phone sellers. THE iPHONE 16 PRO MAX RECEIVED THE MOST INTERESTAccording to a report by Kaan Zenginli from Türkiye Gazetesi, Apple's newest models welcomed technology enthusiasts and opportunists who waited for hours at the store doors. Especially the iPhone 16 Pro Max model attracted significant attention with both 256 GB and 1 TB storage options. These devices, which are Apple's most expensive models, sold out quickly, with prices ranging from 64,999 TL to 119,999 TL. THERE ARE EVEN THOSE WHO BOUGHT MORE THAN 50 DEVICESSome phone sellers, looking to take advantage of the high demand, included their acquaintances in the queue and practically snatched up the stock. It was learned that one seller acquired more than 50 iPhone 16 Pro Max devices through their relatives. While it was stated that those who ordered from Apple stores or the website would receive their devices after 6 weeks, those who wanted to buy immediately from sellers had to part with 140,000-145,000 TL for the 1 TB 16 Pro Max. BEWARE OF SCAMMERSPhone sellers warned that the high demand for the iPhone 16 and its models has also piqued the interest of scammers. "If you find a product that Apple sells for 120,000 TL in the market for 110,000 TL, there is a problem. There is no such thing as a cheap iPhone 16," said the sellers, particularly highlighting the issue of deposit scams. They noted that scammers, who disappear after taking deposits for devices sold cheaply under the pretext of "I bought it from the store, I need it," deceive citizens by claiming urgency. Therefore, consumers are advised to approach offers below market price with suspicion and to shop from reliable sellers.
