On March 22, 2021, in a vineyard house in Izmit, an incident occurred where Engin E., who came from Aydın to find a job, was beaten and had his money taken by Fırat Kaya, who is also hearing impaired. Fırat Kaya shared the footage of the assault on Engin E. on social media. Following Engin E.'s complaint, Fırat Kaya and Ersin K., Emrah M., Salih Ö., and Murat A., who were identified as being involved in the incident, were detained and arrested by the police. In the trial at the Kocaeli 7th High Criminal Court, the court panel concluded that the act could not be evaluated under the scope of 'Attempted murder'. The court sentenced all defendants to 5 years for 'Deprivation of liberty', 2 years and 6 months for 'Violation of privacy', and 5 months for 'Insult', totaling 7 years and 11 months in prison. The court acquitted Ersin K., Emrah M., Salih Ö., and Murat A. of the charge of 'Robbery', while Fırat Kaya was sentenced to 2 years and 1 month in prison for this crime. RE-ARRESTED WITH THE PROSECUTOR'S OBJECTIONThe court panel decided to release all defendants, taking into account the time they spent in prison during the trial process. However, the public prosecutor objected to the decision, which caused a backlash on social media. The higher court, which evaluated the objection to the release decision, ordered the re-arrest of Kaya, who was subsequently detained and imprisoned again. ESCAPED 2 MONTHS AGOFırat Kaya escaped from Bolu Open Prison, where he was sent to serve the remainder of his sentence, 2 months ago. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and Kaya was caught by Yalova Police Department teams while sleeping in the house where he was staying in the city.
