A new regulation is coming for food businesses. The implementation of QR codes will now be mandatory in all food establishments. With this application, consumers will be able to access detailed information about food products. The application, which will be mandatory in 2025, aims to enhance food safety and raise consumer awareness.

The Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Yumaklı, announced that the QR code application in food businesses will become mandatory in 2025.

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Yumaklı, made a presentation regarding the Ministry's budget for the year 2025. Yumaklı stated that as of the end of October 2024, 1 million 100 thousand food inspections have been reached. Reminding that foods that were imitated and adulterated were periodically announced to the public in the past, Yumaklı reported that this information is now shared with consumers in real-time electronically.

APPLICATION WILL BE MANDATORY IN 2025

Emphasizing that the inspection status of food businesses can also be tracked by consumers, Yumaklı announced that the QR code application they have implemented will become mandatory starting from 2025.

Minister Yumaklı emphasized that they will protect citizens' right to access safe food and will not allow those who play with human health to get away with it.
