Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş announced that interviews have begun for the recruitment of 300 firefighters based on merit. 1,500 candidates are undergoing physical fitness, driving, and oral examination stages in the interviews, which will last for 15 days.

The Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB), Mansur Yavaş, announced that they have started the interview process for 300 firefighters to be recruited through a merit-based system. Mayor Yavaş stated, "1500 candidates who graduated from the Civil Defense and Firefighting Department from all over Turkey are sweating it out in the practical exam course and the interview to become the most qualified firefighter of the future."
Ankara Fire Department has initiated the physical fitness, driving, and oral exam process to include 300 firefighters through a merit-based system.
Announcing the start of the interview process on his personal social media account, Mayor Yavaş said, "We have started the interview process for 300 firefighters to be recruited through a merit-based system. In the interviews held at the central station of Ankara Fire Department located in İskitler, candidates are going through physical fitness, driving, and oral exam processes. 1500 candidates who graduated from the Civil Defense and Firefighting Department from all over Turkey are sweating it out in the practical exam course and the interview to become the most qualified firefighter of the future." THE INTERVIEW WILL LAST 15 DAYS The interview process for the recruitment of firefighters, which will be completed between November 18-22, 2024, will continue for 15 days within the central station of Ankara Fire Department in İskitler, including pentathlon, driving, and oral exam processes.
CANDIDATES FROM ALL OVER TURKEY ARE PARTICIPATING Emphasizing that Ankara Fire Department will be strengthened day by day by employing new personnel, Fire Department Director Ali Levent Çeri stated, "We have expanded our vehicle fleet by 90%, opened new fire stations, and now we are increasing our personnel strength with new personnel recruitment. We continue our merit-based personnel recruitment. In the interviews of 1500 candidates that have started; we have begun the exam with pentathlon, driving, and measurement of their professional knowledge. Young graduates from Firefighting Vocational School from all over our country are participating in the exam we conduct to strengthen our firefighting personnel family," he said.CANDIDATES ARE EXCITED Candidates who passed the course, driving, and oral exams expressed their excitement with the following words:
-Sacettin Demir: "I have been preparing for the exam for about three months. I was excited, I did my best. In merit-based recruitments, the Metropolitan Municipality is ahead of other provinces in this regard."
-Aslı Kiraz: "I am participating from Gaziantep. I am very happy, I trust that the Metropolitan Municipality will make a merit-based recruitment, that's why I chose this place. I am excited, I did my best."
-Miraç Doğan: "I come from Malatya. I passed the sports interview first, then the driving interview, and then the oral interview. The exam process was exciting. It is natural for us to be excited here as we are preparing for an action-packed profession. It is a profession with a lot of responsibility; I chose this profession to help people as much as I can."
-Ahmet Can Yılmaz: "I am participating in the exam from Kayseri. I performed well in all the exams. I know how difficult a profession it is. There is a nice environment here, both friendly and competitive. I didn't struggle much in the course and driving; it was quite good. I am happy to be part of a people-oriented profession. We want to do justice to our profession."
