Following the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office initiating an investigation based on reports regarding concerts organized by the Metropolitan Municipality, news has also emerged from Istanbul. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an ex officio investigation into allegations of irregular expenditures at certain events held by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, which allegedly resulted in public harm.

After the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation into the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, another development has occurred. An investigation has also been launched into the concerts of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. The high amounts paid for concerts held by CHP municipalities during official holidays had drawn significant public backlash.

ALL EVENTS HELD AFTER 2021 WILL BE INVESTIGATED

It has been learned that the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the İBB's concert tenders, and that events and concerts held since 2021 will be examined. Regarding the investigation, it was stated, 'It is being examined whether there are any irregularities, but this is not an investigation.' İBB officials considered the examination to be a normal situation. According to the news on Tv100, it was reported that the appointed inspector requested all expenses, documents, and tender files related to all events held since 2021.

The scandal, which began with the claim that 69 million TL was spent on the Ebru Gündeş concert organized by Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş on October 29 Republic Day, has occupied the public agenda for days. An investigation was initiated by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office following reports regarding the concerts organized by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. Taking the incoming reports into account, the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office wrote a letter to the Ministry of Interior's Inspection Board in accordance with the Law on the Prosecution of Public Officials. In the letter, it was requested that the matter be investigated. If any criminal elements or suspects are identified, it was requested that the situation be reported to the Prosecutor's Office.
