After the warnings made by the General Directorate of Meteorology and AKOM for days, the megacity Istanbul experienced chaos yesterday. After the waves rose several meters, flooding occurred, while due to the southerly winds, planes circled in the air for hours, and some planes skipped the runways.

NEW WARNING FROM THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE

As the effects of the southerly winds and heavy rain subsided in the evening hours, Istanbul residents took a sigh of relief, but a new warning came from the governor's office.

"TEMPERATURES WILL DROP BY 10 DEGREES ALL OF A SUDDEN"

In a written statement from the Istanbul Governor's Office; "It is predicted that the air temperatures, which have been above seasonal norms in our region, will decrease by 8 to 10 degrees in Istanbul starting from the afternoon hours on Saturday, falling below seasonal norms. Due to the expected cold and rainy weather, it is anticipated that there will be intermittent rain and showers, with some areas experiencing heavy rainfall on Saturday in Istanbul.

After the evening hours, there is a possibility of light rain mixed with snow in the higher parts of Istanbul, and light snow in some areas. Over the weekend, the expected lowest air temperatures in Istanbul are expected to drop to 3 degrees, while the highest air temperatures are expected to fall to 7 degrees."
