A jeweler, who is alleged to have defrauded customers by taking their gold on consignment and promising profits, was taken into custody in the Odunpazarı district of Eskişehir. The 45-year-old jeweler F.G. promised approximately 30 customers who came to his shop on Kuyumcular Street in the Arifiye neighborhood that he could provide a profit share if the gold they purchased remained with him. Customers who received gold worth approximately 25 million lira and could not reach F.G., who closed his shop and disappeared shortly after, reported the situation to the police. GOLD STILL UNREACHABLEAs a result of technical and physical surveillance by the Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch, it was determined that F.G. closed his shop after taking the gold and went to Çorlu district of Tekirdağ. F.G., who was found to be hiding in a house there, was captured by police teams. The suspect, brought to Eskişehir, was referred to the courthouse after processing at the police station. Police teams are continuing their efforts to locate the gold that was not found during the raid.
