The knot is being untied in the Narin Güran case.

In the rural Tavşantepe neighborhood of the central Bağlar district in Diyarbakır, the second hearing of the murder case of 8-year-old Narin Güran, whose body was found in Eğertutmaz Stream 19 days after she went missing on August 21, will continue on the third day. The detained defendants, mother Yüksel Güran, brother Enes Güran, uncle Salim Güran, and neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar, are being tried for "intentional murder of a child in participation" with a request for aggravated life imprisonment. While no decision was announced on the second day of the hearing, a decision is expected to be made on the third day.

MOTHER YÜKSEL GÜRAN WILL SPEAK

It has been reported that detained defendant mother Yüksel Güran will make her defense at the hearing on the third day, which will start at 10:00 AM.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The prosecutor read the opinion the day before, stating that there was no room for good conditions and that all the defendants were accomplices. During the second day of the hearing, it was the turn of the detained defendant brother Enes Güran to defend himself. Enes Güran made striking statements regarding the bite mark on his arm, which had been discussed for days, and like the other defendants, he said of the main suspect Nevzat Bahtiyar, "He is a killer."

"I BIT MY OWN ARM"

Güran stated, "As for the bruise on my arm, I bit it myself. I do not forgive them, may they be cursed. Even if it doesn't come from them, it will come from their children. If necessary, cut off my head, but do not blame me for Narin's death. I can stay in prison until the end of my life, but my conscience is clear," he said.

"NEVZAT IS A KILLER"

Güran also stated about detained defendant Nevzat Bahtiyar, "Some scoundrels have come and say, 'Nevzat Bahtiyar can't even be your dog.' That's true, Mr. Ali! (Nevzat Bahtiyar's lawyer) Nevzat Bahtiyar can't even be our dog, but he is a killer."

"DON'T BE DISHONORABLE"

Continuing his speech, Güran said, "I have witnesses regarding some issues about Nevzat. I will explain them later. You will all be shocked by what I will say about Nevzat." After Güran turned to Nevzat Bahtiyar and said, "Nevzat, let me tell you one word, your daughter," Bahtiyar responded with, "Don't be dishonorable." The brief tension that arose was quickly resolved.

TENSION IN THE HEARING

While the second lawyer of Enes Güran, Muhammet Fatih Demir, was making his defense, a lawyer who spoke without taking the floor was requested to be removed from the hall, and another lawyer who reacted to this was also removed. A lawyer from the bar responded. The presiding judge stated that he had warned earlier.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The lifeless body of Narin Güran, who went missing on August 21 in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of the central Bağlar district of Diyarbakır, was found in Eğertutmaz Stream on September 8. Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 12 out of 23 suspects, including mother Yüksel, brother Enes, uncle Salim Güran, and neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar, were arrested.

The investigation against Yüksel, Enes, and Salim Güran, as well as Nevzat Bahtiyar, has been completed, and the indictment prepared with a request for aggravated life imprisonment for the crime of "intentional murder of a child in participation" was accepted by the Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court on October 23. The trial of the defendants began on November 7, and the first hearing, which lasted for 3 days, was postponed to December 26 with a decision to continue the detention of the defendants. After the first hearing, the public prosecutor submitted a 14-page opinion to the court during the session break.
