CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made evaluations regarding the agenda at his party's group meeting. Özel stated a figure for the minimum wage for the year 2025, saying, "A minimum wage below 30,000 TL can never be accepted." STRIKING STATEMENTS FROM ÖZELHighlights from Özel's statements are as follows; "The first minimum wage set during the AK Party period in December 2002 was 184 lira and 30 kuruş. A minimum wage earner could buy seven quarter gold coins. When we compare the number of gold coins that can be bought with the current minimum wage, there is a huge difference. Today, to be able to buy seven quarter gold coins, one needs to earn a minimum wage of 35,000 TL. The current minimum wage can buy three quarter gold coins. To buy seven quarter gold coins, 35,000 TL is required," he said. "WE WILL NOT ESTABLISH A BOND WITH THOSE WHO ACCEPT A WAGE BELOW 30,000 TL"Continuing his speech, he explained the expectations for the minimum wage, saying, "Now to Türk-İş, Hak-İş, and DİSK; in the upcoming process, we are with you in every struggle you will give to ensure that the minimum wage is at least as valuable as the day the Justice and Development Party came to power. The CHP will never establish a bond with anyone who accepts a minimum wage below 30,000 TL. A minimum wage below 30,000 TL can never be accepted."
