The establishment licenses of SLM Investment Bank Inc., which is planned to operate in the banking sector, and Asır Investment Bank Inc. have been revoked by a decision published in the Official Gazette.
The Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) announced its decision regarding the revocation of the licenses of two institutions in the investment banking sector to the public. With this decision, the commencement of banking activities for SLM Investment Bank Inc. and Asır Investment Bank Inc. has been prevented.
According to the decision published by the BRSA, as a result of the evaluation for the establishment license of SLM Investment Bank Inc., it was ruled to revoke the license under the relevant clause of Article 11 of the Banking Law No. 5411. The decision stated, "In the meeting of the Board on 12.03.2026, as a result of the examination of the letter dated 18.12.2025 and numbered E-20008792-101.01.01-175564 and its annexes; it has been decided to revoke the establishment license of SLM Investment Bank Inc., which was granted establishment permission by the Board's Decision No. 10594 dated 04.05.2023, in accordance with the clause (d) of Article 11 of the Banking Law No. 5411."
Similarly, it was reported that the establishment license of Asır Investment Bank Inc. was also revoked as a result of the examinations. The decision included the following statements: "In the meeting of the Board on 12.03.2026, as a result of the examination of the letter dated 11.03.2026 and numbered E-20008792-101.01.01-18411 and its annexes; it has been decided to revoke the establishment license of Asır Investment Bank Inc., which was granted establishment permission by the Board's Decision No. 10541 dated 23.03.2023, in accordance with the clause (c) of Article 11 of the Banking Law No. 5411, subject to the provisions of the Turkish Commercial Code."
