The body of a 66-year-old man, who was reported missing in Osmaniye, was found lifeless in an irrigation canal as a result of drone-assisted search efforts. Gendarmerie teams have launched an investigation into the incident.
Sad news came from the search efforts for 66-year-old Ali Cin, who had not been heard from for a while in the Düziçi district of Osmaniye. As a result of the intense efforts carried out by the teams, the elderly man's lifeless body was recovered from an irrigation canal.
HE LEFT HOME AND NEVER RETURNED
The incident occurred in the Ellek town of the Düziçi district. Ali Cin, who was known to have a heart condition, left his home and never returned. After his relatives reported the situation to the authorities out of concern for his life, gendarmerie, AFAD, and fire department teams were dispatched to the region, and a large-scale search operation was launched.
HIS CAR KEY WAS FOUND IN THE PUBLIC GARDEN
While the search was ongoing, a critical development occurred yesterday evening. Ali Cin's car was found abandoned near Ellek Public Garden with its key inside. The teams, who immediately concentrated their efforts on this area, continued scanning activities on land throughout the night with AFAD, gendarmerie, and fire department personnel, and from the air with drone support at first light in the morning.
HIS LIFELESS BODY WAS RECOVERED FROM THE CANAL
The teams' intense pursuit in the area ended in tragedy. The lifeless body of the 66-year-old man was found in the irrigation canal on Canal Street in Çevlik Neighborhood, near the location where his vehicle was found.
Ali Cin's body, recovered from the water by fire department teams, was taken to the hospital morgue for an autopsy after the prosecutor's examination at the scene. Gendarmerie teams have launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
