The China-based technology giant Xiaomi has updated the list of phone models for which it will end update support. As of June 2025, 7 smartphone models belonging to the Redmi and POCO brands will no longer receive Android updates. This means that even if the phones are still usable, they will soon become 'obsolete'.
LIST OF PHONE MODELS
The models included in Xiaomi's EOL (End-of-Life) list are as follows:
- Redmi Note 11T Pro
- Redmi Note 11T Pro+
- Redmi K50i
- POCO X4 GT
- POCO C40
- Redmi K40S
- POCO F4
These devices will officially no longer receive software support as of June 2025.
WHY IS UPDATE SUPPORT IMPORTANT?
Being removed from the update list does not only mean that they will not receive Android upgrades, but also:
- Security vulnerabilities will not be patched,
- Incompatibility with newly released applications may occur,
- System errors will not be fixed,
- And most importantly, the devices will become vulnerable to cyber attacks.
Although these issues do not prevent the device from physically continuing to operate, they pose serious risks in terms of security.
WHAT SHOULD USERS DO?
If you are using one of these models, it is recommended to back up your device, protect your data, and if possible, transition to a new device starting from the end of updates in June 2025. Additionally, periodically checking Xiaomi's EOL (End-of-Life) list can be beneficial to learn in advance which devices will be out of support and when.
