Last week, following the appointment of a trustee due to the ongoing terrorist organization investigation against the CHP-led Esenyurt Municipality, the Ministry of Interior suspended three more mayors. According to the ministry's decision, the mayors of Mardin, Batman, and Halfeti were removed from their positions, and trustees were appointed in their place.

While the repercussions of the incident continue, a group affiliated with the DEM Party in Halfeti attacked the police officers securing the area in front of the municipal building. It was noteworthy that a woman wearing a headscarf managed to calm the angry group targeting the barricades.
